What a vivacity of animals!
The squares of Robert Dallet (1923-2006), always dedicated to the paradise of animals, invite you to a world of sound filled with birdsong, breath of tigers, rustling of grass ... What a feast for the eyes!

In 1985, Hermes calls for this French artist, an exceptional animal painter, who will sign many masterpieces including the famous "Jungle Love".

The dynamism of animals is based on a deep understanding of their behavior and their anatomy and musculature. In fact, Robert frequented, from a very young age, zoos and museums to sketch the animals. This vocation never leaves him. The career of this autodidactic painter is extremely rich, he worked for all media: from oil paintings to album artwork for children. And he was also committed to the protection of animals.

The felines were, by their swift and smooth movement and by their striking and mysterious beauty, incontestably the most favorite subject for Robert. He was able to draw precisely over 100 types of felines, including extinct species.

Otherwise, the leopard is definitely one of the most favorite motifs for the women. The jumping panthers on the square are the fruit of a happy marriage between the house and Robert.

By wearing his carrés, let’s think of the life of an artist who kept eternally his child's soul and curiosity.

  1. Very true, Dallet captures wild animals gloriously. I have succumbed to the charm of his art but will pretend to myself the purchase did not happen until a bit nearer to my birthday.

  2. Thank you for your sweet words Bienchen!
You are so self-controlled person! I’ve never succeeded to do a silk ban…
But I’m looking forward to see some R.Dallet on you someday, I’m quite sure they works well with your earth color ward-robe!

  3. As you said, the talent of Dallet is to capture the animals in action, like an "arrêt sur image".
I am a big fan of Robert Dallet's designs. My first purchase was Sichuan, for the panda on it.
And as a feline lover, I had to give in to the Tendresse Feline shawl (I have a booklet from the beginning of 2000's in which I fell in love with the Jungle Love shawl a few years ago). For the TF shawl, I have chosen the neutral colorway (I had no shawl in neutral colors until now and I think it was a big gap to fill ;-))

Indeed, Robert Dallet’s animals are like an "arrêt sur image"!
I really love the design of Sichuan, and it is in fact my only Dallet for a moment…
As you know, I like so much the safari style, so I want to add some more Dallet someday.
TF is beautiful and gorgeous design. I really love to discover your new neutral TF shawl soon!!!
